In Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom brings us back to a crater-filled Raccoon City where the property taxes are low but the mortality rates are impressively high. You’ll be managing a chaotic timeshare between FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, who is legally obligated to investigate her mother's death at a creepy hotel, and Leon S. Kennedy, whose glorious hair remains the only thing more indestructible than a Tyrant. The gameplay allows you to switch between a first-person perspective for those who enjoy intimate breathing sounds from monsters and a third-person view for those who believe that Leon’s tactical poses are a basic human right. I suggest that while "accidentally" blowing up an entire Midwestern city might technically violate several local ordinances, it makes for a fantastic cinematic experience.
To join this liability-filled adventure, the game is currently playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom has even released a "Generation Pack" for the Switch 2, allowing you to carry your trauma across multiple titles while tapping Grace or Leon amiibo™ figures for in-game perks. Whether you're playing on PC with ray-tracing that renders every drop of bio-hazard in 4K or on a console from the comfort of your bunker, the community has already achieved 8 billion kills, proving that the T-Virus is no match for a gamer with a grudge and a rocket launcher. Just be advised that while Leon's "Action Movie" combat feels great, "suplexing a zombie" is rarely accepted as a valid legal defense in family court.
