Star Wars: Commander - 10 Strategy Guides and Tips

By:

In order to dominate Star Wars: Commander, it is important that you learn the tricks and strategies already proved effective. In this article, I will present to you the tips and strategies that I have gathered by playing Star Wars: Commander for months. I have led my squad Overkill through many victories with minimal losses. Below are ten game strategies and tips that you will do well to remember.

01. Gems

Never spend gems on anything except for buying Droids. The most common error of some gamers is not thinking ahead in the game. While instantly finishing an upgrade, a construction or a recruitment using your hard earned gems, saving them to buy Droids is far more rewarding in the long run. It is essential that you get five Droids before reaching HQ9 because the upgrade times of level HQ9+ structures takes more than a week. Always clear debris around your base for free gems and finish the chapter missions as soon as your troops are able. Always participate in game events, some of them can give you a lot of gems.

02. Resources

Always protect your resources at all cost. Remember that it is more beneficial if you protect your resources rather than your medals. The best way to get free shield is to put your HQ outside your walls and unprotected. This way, when someone attacks you, there is a high probability that the attacker will just destroy your HQ and leave, giving you an instant free shield. If you farm players for resources, it is advised that before you logout from the game, you warp to another planet. Warping to another planet will deny the players you farmed the chance for revenge and rob you of your hard earned loots.

03. Upgrading

Never rush upgrading your HQ, all your structures must be at the limit first before upgrading your HQ. Rushing your HQ level will just make your base weak when faced with opponents of same HQ level but fully upgraded structures. Remember to always upgrade your troops and heroes also, before going to the next HQ level. Never use gems to rush construction or upgrade, be patient.

04. Farming

When farming players, always go for the resources first. Choose your target carefully, always look for easy targets with more available loots. Always put your storage in the middle of your base and leave them heavily guarded to discourage potential farmers. Always relocate to another planet after you farm, this is to avoid revenge. Finally, use troops that are cost effective for stealing resources, never use top tier expensive troops.

05. Base Layout

Both compressed base and expanded base layout have their pros and cons. A compressed base is easier to defend because your turrets can defend each other. However, for experienced opponents, a compressed base is easier to defeat. An expanded base pose harder challenge because of the time limit when attacking. The attacking force may be strong but there is jut no time to wipe out all the structures of your expanded base. The most important thing to remember when deploying an expanded base layout is to cover everything, never left an unoccupied spot in the middle where your opponent can deploy troops. Make use of traps wisely, properly placed traps can greatly reduce the attacking force. Always use your less important buildings as first line of defense instead of your turrets.

06. Shield Generators

Shield generators are your primary defense against incoming attacks. But always remember that there are troops that can go through shield generators and there are troops that deal bonus damage against shield generators. Make sure that your shield generators are protected by turrets and traps, but also make sure that all you turrets are shielded by the shield generators. When attacking, never let troops that do not specialize in destroying shield generators go on a mission to destroy one. Always destroy shield generators first before deploying the main bulk of your troops.

07. Heroes

Never underestimate your heroes, always invest on upgrading them. Heroes are specialized in either bypassing or destroying shield generators. Some heroes are specialized in decimating infantry, turrets or vehicles and are expected to cause burst damage during battles. Use heroes wisely, always consider the heroes specialization when deploying them on the battlefield.

08. Droidekas

Droidekas can be used to defend your base or to attack enemy bases. They are fast moving and carry shields, which is perfect for cleaning up the enemy base once the main defenses are destroyed. Never use droidekas for tanking. As a general rule, always bring them home alive.

09. Squad

Always join an active squad. You can benefit from troop donations from your squad members and use the squad perks. Winning squad war is the best way to fill your storehouses so always be at war. Even if your squad loose the war you can still receive a salvaged crate containing minor rewards.

10. Squad War

When participating in squad wars always delegate targets according to player's HQ levels. Do not just randomly attack the members of the opposing squad. Conquering factory outposts will provide the entire squad perks during battle, delegate members to capture them. During squad war preparation, donate only troops that specialize in destroying infantry and vehicles. It is important that the top two of the squad should attack last in squad war, this is to ensure the destruction of enemy uplinks which lower level members failed to destroy. Snipers and Speeder Bikes are the best cost effective defensive troops. Never forget to upgrade your squad perks after each squad war victory.
